Let’s suppose that I don’t have any audio tracks in the project but only sample libraries and synths, and that therefore I don’t have to worry about converting all the audio tracks in the project to a different sample rate.įrom what I have read on the Internet so far, people say that converting sample rates (such as 24-bit to 16-bit) isn’t that problematic and won’t degrade the audio, but that we should be careful which tool or service we use to convert between different sample rates (such as from 48 KHz to 44.1 KHz) because many converters do a very poor job and can noticeably degrade the audio. Since I need to have both a 48 KHz and 44.1 KHz mix and master (for submitting to a distribution service or to different online platforms), I would like to know what is the best method to export a 44.1 KHz mix and master from a 48 KHz project. My DAW projects are almost always in 24-bit 48 KHz.
